Prep A and B

Prep A & B capacity experiment

On Friday the 3rd of November, Prep A and B heading outside to conduct an experiment which was related to the maths unit capacity. The Preps were placed into small groups and were given a different sized container. Their task was to fill that container with cups of water and record how many cups of water it would take to fill the container all the way to the top. To reinforce this, the Preps had previously read the book Alexander’s Outing by Pamela Allen, where Alexander the duck gets stuck in a hole and the people try to save him by pouring water into the hole until he reached the top.

The preps found out that the biggest container required more cups of water to fill than the smallest container. It was an enjoyable little experiment.
